Job Description

Our Newport based client requires a brand new Human Resources Director to operate at board level and report to the CEO. The successful candidate will be part of the executive team and work closely with fellow directors and key shareholder to provide updates, reports, and information relative to the overall business plan and strategic direction of company.

You will have strategic responsibility for all human resource management and people related areas of the business. A confident and experienced leader, you will, through genuine leadership, shape and deliver a positive culture, with a high performance ethic, whilst ensuring the organisation is an enjoyable and reputable place to work, across its multiple sites and branches.

You will ensure fairness and consistency amongst staff and ensure the business has the structure, skills and talent to continue on its impressive growth path.  Importantly you will seek to ensure all employees, both permanent and flexible, maximise their potential and enjoy the journey whilst working with this company.

Successful Applicant

A key skill required is the ability and willingness to challenge other leaders within the business, as well as board members and shareholders. You will be confident to speak up and seek wider assistance if you disagree with a particular business path.

The successful candidate will be confident in proactively shaping discussions at a senior level and be confident in communicating the business’ position and expertise to clients or wider industry forums. As HRD, you will also be client-facing and you will enjoy the opportunity of being part of a client relationship management team when necessary to help address any concerns in navigating a flexible workforce. This is not a fee generating role, but the HRD will support the client needs of the business where necessary.  A good understanding of the recruitment industry and the provision of flexible labour services is therefore highly desirable.

Above all this HRD will seek to engage employees in a positive business culture and help employees achieve great results for the business in alignment with the company values.  You will lead the HR Team and H&S.
