Job Description

An integral member of the HRBP team, you will provide strategic and high-level operational HR advice and guidance across a large, well-known business.

 

Working collaboratively with the SMT to design, implement and drive specific HR projects that support organisational strategy and transformational change.

 

Partnering with key stakeholders, you will act as the people lead for projects; define project scope, assess change impact and develop for example an ER/Trade Union engagement project plan.

Job Purpose:

 

One of a team of HR Business Partners providing strategic and high-level operational HR advice and guidance to designated area/s of responsibility. Work collaboratively with functional senior management to design, implement and drive HR projects that support organisational strategy and transformation. Work with and support the Head of HR People Partnering, the other HR Business Partners and the wider HR Team to provide a high quality and professional HR service while also working closely with dedicated project teams to support successful and timely project delivery and change management.

Role Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement change management strategies to support organisational initiatives.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to act as the people lead for key projects; define project scope, assess change impact, develop project plans and allocate appropriate resource.
  • Support, coach and guide managers and other key colleagues/stakeholders on people related matters, including change management and stakeholder engagement.
  • With key stakeholders, develop an Employee Relations / Trade Union engagement plan and carry out any appropriate consultations/engagement.
  • Provide support and advice to ensure that Company policies are adhered to, and projects are delivered in line with relevant policies and legislation.
  • Support cross functional working to ensure key colleagues / stakeholders are kept up to date on key developments which may impact on the strategy.
  • Work with senior managers and the executive team to deliver professional and creative HR solutions and strategies which are aligned to strategic aims.
  • Identify, agree and deliver opportunities to improve / deliver HR service / Projects and minimise risk in conjunction with key stakeholders
  • To use HR data, including establishment data, to proactively identify business needs and collaborate with key colleagues/stakeholders to develop and deliver continuous improvements, aligned to the business strategy.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Success by establishing metrics and KPIs to track the progress and impact of change initiatives and collect feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership of personal development and sharing best practice.

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Good level of general education including English, Maths and IT
  • In depth knowledge of generalist HR best practice and up to date employment legislation
  • Extensive project management experience – planning, execution, governance
  • Knowledge and experience of change management initiatives
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Able to work independently under pressure, use initiative, manage development of self and team members.
  • Excellent coaching, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
  • Strong time management skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience of   delivering workforce and succession planning
  • Ability to balance hands on delivery with strategic thinking

 

Desirable

  • CIPD qualified (or equivalent) or working towards
  • Change management qualification
  • Project management qualification
  • Experience of unionised environments
  • Spoken and written Welsh
  • Experience of leading and managing a team to deliver a quality professional service.
